I was asked this morning if eating a big bowl of fruit gives me a stomach ache. The answer: Quite the opposite! This bowl of kiwis gives me more energy than a bowl of oatmeal or eggs ever has! It keeps me satisfied AND hydrated. Fruit digests more quickly than other foods so when you eat it on an empty stomach, it doesn’t cause upset or blood sugar issues. I should know. I used to have major blood sugar issues AND digestive disturbances. Plus, you’re getting the benefits of so many vitamins and live enzymes. Raw fruit is also naturally anti-inflammatory. And your body WILL NOT miss the high protein, even if you are super active. I used to think the opposite. Just be sure to eat the same amount of calories worth of fruit that you would in a typical meal. Really, it’s okay! If you do decide to experiment, try replacing your regular breakfast with a giant bowl of fruit every morning (when you’re stomach is the emptiest) and let me know how it goes! RAW = ALIVE!!!!! But it is spring and spring is a time for cleansing. Vegetables are naturally detoxifying and I am choosing to celebrate by increasing my consumption. There is no need to think about depriving myself of anything, except hopefully some toxins.
Sea vegetables are an intricate part of my family’s diet. Have you ever looked at the nutritional facts? They will astound you! I consider them to be a super food that is completely underrated. There are literally hundreds of benefits to eating them. Let me introduce you to some of my favorites:
The mere thought of chewing anything with the slightest bit of grizzle sent me into panic.
